Breakfast is considered to be the most important meal of the day, especially for nourishing young minds and bodies.

It is for this reason that in 2015 Pioneer Foods – now part of PepsiCo  –  introduced a breakfast programme in 35 schools in seven of the country’s nine provinces. The children are offered breakfast cereals and milk every weekday during the school term.

The programme is one of PepsiCo SSA’s food security initiatives which contributes to the company’s Food for Good Commitment which aims to increase nutritious food access for 50 million people by 2030 as part of our PepsiCo Positive journey, through collaboration in communities where we live and work.

The programme is still going strong and provides a nutritious start to the day for 34 000 school children.
